Esher District Car Treasure Hunt 2005

On 17th July eight cars left the Car park in Downside Bridge Road, Cobham, each carrying a team of at least a driver and a navigator. The objective was to follow directions which would lead them along little known leafy Surrey lanes to a destination with a pub where they could enjoy lunch. Along the way they had to watch out for landmarks and answer questions from clues.

First stop was the village of Shere where the first answers to the quiz were found. Then they all piled back into their cars and wound their way along several miles of mostly shaded lanes through beautiful woodlands. The trail went through Little London, Farley Green, and the outskirts of Cranleigh and Dunsfold. Crossing the A3 they drove through Thursley to Tilford where the trail ended at the Barley Mow. Picnics, drinks and ice creams on the green were enjoyed by all. The event raised £70 for Esher District Scouting.

The results were close, but the Kafuffle Gone Wrong team from 1st Hinchley Wood won by one point.

The teams which scored the most points in each section were:
Picture Quiz   The Majors   1st Oxshott
Quiz   The Green Bugs   Esher District
Tie Breaker   Alvis Hares   1st Hinchley Wood
